Join the community info session on April 17 in Heiloo to discover the smart energy solutions tested in Plan Oost and help shape a CO₂-neutral neighbourhood.
Heiloo is taking concrete steps toward a more sustainable future through two closely connected initiatives: the Plan Oost pilot and the EU-funded REFORMERS project. Together, these efforts aim to create a CO₂-neutral, energy self-sufficient neighbourhood, right in the heart of Heiloo.
In Plan Oost, a residential area composed entirely of privately owned homes, smart energy solutions are being tested to support the transition to a more efficient and resilient energy system. These include home batteries, thermal storage units, and Teleport Home devices that help residents monitor, store, and even trade their energy.
This pilot is part of the broader REFORMERS project, which brings together nine European regions to develop Renewable Energy Valleys (REVs) – innovative districts where renewable energy flows are optimised through cutting-edge technologies like Big Data and Digital Twins.
But technology is just one part of the equation. At the core of REFORMERS is a commitment to co-creation: we believe the energy transition should happen with the community, not just for it.
That’s why we are inviting all residents of Plan Oost to a community meeting on April 17. During the event, we’ll present the project in more detail, demonstrate how the technologies work, and, most importantly, open the floor to your ideas, questions, and feedback.
Join us in building a greener Heiloo – together!
