Protected: Unlocking asset flexibility with the Teleport Pro

At Withthegrid, our goal is to make energy systems easier to manage, more efficient, and better prepared for the demands of a sustainable future. As part of the REFORMERS project, we’re excited to contribute to this vision by providing our Teleport Pro to support energy management in the Flagship Renewable Energy Valley.

So, what exactly is the Teleport Pro? How does it work?

At its core, the Teleport Pro is a gateway that helps connect and remotely control different energy assets. In the Flagship Valley, the Teleport is being deployed to connect the 75 largest controllable assets, which include the 20 largest generators and several other assets without built-in control systems.

But the Teleport Pro does more than connect. By collecting production and flexibility data from selected assets, the Teleport provides Repowered with the insights needed to optimize energy flows. Repowered will control these specific assets and offer their flexibility on various imbalance markets, responding to real-time conditions such as demand fluctuations, grid constraints, and market dynamics.

Taking this a step further, a lite version of the gateway (the “Teleport Home”) is currently under development and will be added in 50 residences in the Heiloo area. It will unlock the flexibility of home-level assets like solar inverters, home batteries, and potentially smart heat pumps, thermal storage systems and EVs in the future.

The Teleport Home will use a local control loop to help residents maximize energy self-consumption. At the same time, these home systems will also be connected to Repowered, enabling broader, system-wide optimisation by including residential dwellings in congestion management.

What’s happening now?

Exciting progress is underway! The onboarding process for the first locations using the Teleport Pro has begun. These locations include rooftop solar systems, wind turbines, battery storage units, and EV chargers. The first Teleport Pro installation is just around the corner, ready to deliver live insights into production, consumption, and flexibility for the largest consumers and renewable energy producers in the Flagship Valley.

Meanwhile, we’re working closely with Gemeente Heiloo and Repowered to develop the residential proposition.
